Summer Fun Pool Shop Interview

By Interviewer at 06/11/07 13:03
Name of your website?

Summer Fun Pool Shop

Your name?

Danielle

Your Location (city, etc)

Keene

When did you start your website and why?

I started my website in April. I became involved in online retail as a way to earn money while staying at home with my children. This site I started specifically because I own an Intex swimming pool and I love the ease in which it provided me for set up and the fun it provides my children all summer long.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

My website is an eCommerce site offering only the most popular and most trusted above ground swimming pool on the market. My customers are my main priority. I ensure they have a complete secure shopping experience by using Scan Alert. My site offers several pay options including Paypal one of the most secure forms of online processing to date. And I offer quick turn around time for all my customers.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Researching and finding a supplier that I could believe in and who would stand behind the business model that I offer my customers. My second difficulty was finding and choosing the right web directories to submit and link my site to.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Creating the website wa the easiest part.

What was your biggest mistake?

Not starting sooner.

Who maintains your website and why?

I maintain my website but it is hosted through StoresOnline. It is one of the easiest programs out there for eCommerce web development.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

The future of eCommerce is growth. As more older people become aware of the access a computer offers and as more teens become adults internet usage and eCommerce will grow immensely.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

On page SEO is straightforward and simple to apply the concepts such as using keywords, keyword density, alt image tags, and header tags. Off page SEO is a lot more difficult and time consuming. It is key that your site have both one-way and reciprocal linking to ensure it is seen on Google's front page.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

I do not use search engine submissions, I only use directory submissions. From my research, search engine submission is not the best way to submit your site if you want to reach the top, invest time into submitting your sites to web directories that have a good Google PR and Alexa Rank.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

My site is still too new to answer this question.

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

Pop-ups. I think they should only be allowed for newsletter or email requests.
