Online lighting shop. We specialise in making hand made fabric lampshades

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To increase and maximise business. Also to get across to the public what service we can provide

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Thhis is my one and only website, it is currently on its second design and is currently uder going a change to maximise google rankings

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was one of the only names available to us at the time and seemed the best to chose

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We provide a bespoke lampshade service were the customer can design there own lampshade using a selection of different fabrics and trims

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it for income

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

At the minute i have a person who is constantly working on the site which leaves me free to make the lampshades and deal with lighting orders

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would put alot into advertisement to get the site at the top of the search engines in as many key words as possible

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

If it got to a stage were i couldnt keep up with orders i would employ someone to help or train the person who deals with order to make lampshades and help deal with things

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

There havent been any up until now

What has been your biggest challenge?

It has been and still is to get to number one on the search engines

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I havent payed for any advertisement for the site. Just used SEO and added free links which seems to be working

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I wasnt really expecting that much to start with but with the site steadily growing i am hoping to increase sales and expectations are growing

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

If the site wasnt working or sales reduced i would reduce it to just show fabric lampshades and do them in my spare time. The site only costs to host it and for the domain name
